The Common Core requires students to develop their base of knowledge through reading, to make sense of text based evidence and to have consistent practice with complex text and academic vocabulary. The shift that we will focus on in this module, "Text Dependent Questions in Social Studies", is the use of text-based evidence. Specifically, we will hone in on how to use text dependent questions in supporting students' comprehension of the text.
