In this module, we will examine why all students should be given access to rigorous, grade level texts. We will then explore strategies for helping students make meaning of complex texts.

- Teachers know the elements of text complexity.
- Teachers identify which portions of text will prove challenging for students and why. Teachers support students in deconstructing challenging texts through annotation and asking guided, aligned questions.
Mindset:
- Teachers believe that it is essential for all students to grapple with rigorous texts and that, with the right supports, all students can access and understand complex texts.
